2.1. Learning goals

  1. It understands, applies and analyzes procedures and techniques to evaluate programming, teaching process and teaching practice.
  2. It applies innovative methodologies using ICT and the potential of web 2.0 in teaching Economics area.
  3. It designs and defends a research project on a selected topic of the Aragon curriculum concerning to Economic area.
  4. It identifies the problems related to the teaching and learning subjects of the Economy and proposes possible solutions to solve them

3.1. Aims of the course

  1. To know the elements of evaluation and teaching practice in the Economic area.
  2. To acquire the proper skills to carry out a research project in the Economic area.
  3. To understand the importance of teaching innovation as an instrument for improving the quality of teaching-learning in the specialty of Economics.

5.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented, such as lectures, where the contents will be presented with the support of audiovisual resources and written documents, taking as reference the educational policy of Aragon applicable to the educational field, and through real references of the aspects that the Economic teachers must carry out as teachers. Real cases, different evaluation systems, and web tools will be introduced in the class to create innovative didactic activities.

Classroom materials will be available via Moodle. These include a repository of the lecture notes used in class, the course syllabus, as well as other course-specific learning materials.

5.2. Learning tasks

In the classroom didactic activities will be carried out in which the evaluation of references will be applied as well as their design through web tools, which enhance their innovative character. Indications will also be given on how to carry out a research or innovation project in the classroom using classroom examples.

5.3. Syllabus

The course will address the following topics:

SECTION 1. TEACHING EVALUATION

  • The assessment of learning
  • Phases of the evaluated process.
  • Basic regulation of evaluation.
  • Evaluation of the teaching-learning process.
  • Evaluation instruments.

SECTION 2. TEACHING INNOVATION

  • Fundamental problems of the teaching of Economy regarding the innovation.
  • Use of ICT in the Economic area: web applications in the classroom, web 2.0 and social networks,
  • Different ICT resources (concept maps, online questionnaires, digital whiteboard, etc.)

SECTION 3. EDUCATIONAL INVESTIGATION

  • Educational research. Research methodologies
  • Design and development of research projects in the Economic area.
  • The research and innovation project integrated in the Community of Aragon.

5.4. Course planning and calendar

Teaching sessions will take place in a computer room where each student has a computer connected to the Internet,  the computer teacher, and video canon.
